A report from the National Weather Service was issued on Saturday at 5:11 p.m. for heavy snow until 7:30 p.m. for Columbia County.
“Precipitation will continue to change to heavy snow across the Berkshires, Taconics and southeast Vermont through 6 p.m. Snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour and locally higher will be possible through 8 p.m. Extremely poor visibilities under one quarter of a mile and treacherous, snow covered roadways will develop within the heaviest snow. Travel is discouraged if at all possible through early this evening,” says the weather service.
