A report was issued from the National Weather Service on Sunday at 12:42 a.m. for heavy snow until 4 a.m. for Niagara, Orleans, Erie and Genesee counties.
“Heavy snow and blowing snow will lower visibility below a quarter mile at times during the early morning hours across the Niagara Frontier, including the Buffalo metro area. The snow will be heaviest through 4 a.m. when snowfall rates of one to two inches an hour. Meanwhile winds gusting to 45 mph will cause blowing and drifting snow. Travel will be extremely difficult during the early morning hours, and should be avoided if at all possible. The band of heaviest snow is likely to shift slightly northward towards daybreak,” says the weather service.
Advance Local Weather Alerts is a service provided by United Robots, which uses machine learning to compile the latest data from the National Weather Service.
