NYC weather: Coastal flood statement affecting New York City until early Wednesday

The National Weather Service issued a coastal flood statement at 5:34 p.m. on Tuesday valid from 8 p.m. until Wednesday midnight for Staten Island, Brooklyn and Queens.

The weather service describes, “Less than one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline.”

“Brief minor flooding of the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline,” describes the weather service. “Do not drive through flooded roadways.”
