STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Wednesday will be cloudy, rainy and windy, with high winds picking up during the course of the day and temperatures well into the 50s, according to AccuWeather.
New York City residents can expect a high of 56 degrees and a low of 32 degrees on Wednesday, although wind chill will make it feel much cooler, AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dave Dombek said.
“Most of the day, at least the first half of the day, probably dry. Maybe the first two thirds of the day look dry,” said Dombek. “Just mostly rain showers around during the afternoon, the late, mid-to-late afternoon and early evening hours.”
According to Dombek, between 2 and 7 p.m. there will be a few short rain showers that will lead to brisk temperatures and cold air that will dry out Wednesday evening’s rain.
“Thursday and Friday are probably going to be our chilliest two days for the rest of the week,” said Dombek. “Thursday is going to be the worst of the two, as far as what it feels like, because of more wind.”
Although temperatures will feel “blustery” Thursday because of a high of 44 degrees and strong winds, the skies will be at least partly sunny, according to AccuWeather.

“That’s definitely below where it should be this time of the year for March 20; the average high temperature in New York City is 51 degrees,” said the forecaster. “So that is about 7 degrees below where it should be for this time of the year.”
Friday’s another chilly day, Dombek predicted.
“There will be only a high of 43 degrees. However, it probably won’t feel as bad outside because there’ll be a lot less wind,” said Dombek. “So even though the temperatures are almost about the same, it’ll feel nicer outside with a lot less wind.”
