STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Two people have have been arrested in connection with last month’s stabbing death of a 23-year-old Staten Island woman.
Roberto Martinez, 25, was arrested early Saturday on a murder charge, and Javier Martinez, 23, was also arrested and charged with hindering prosecution, according to police.
Evelin Barajas Perez, 23, was found fatally stabbed in a Mariners Harbor apartment complex on June 21. Officers responded to a 911 call asking for a wellness check at 371 Van Name Ave. near Forest Avenue, according to a statement from the NYPD.
Police found Perez with multiple stab wounds to her body, and EMS pronounced her dead at the scene, according to police.
