NYPD: Armed robbery reported on Staten Island; Rolex watch and cash stolen

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The NYPD responded to a report of an armed robbery in which several individuals allegedly stole money and a luxury watch from a man as they sat in his car in Concord, according to a police spokesman.

The incident reportedly occurred at around 12:30 p.m. Monday afternoon at a home in the vicinity of Britton Avenue and Saunder Street, according to a spokesman for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.

The victim, a 24-year-old male, told police he was meeting up with an unknown individual to try to sell the Rolex watch.

While the two men were in the back seat of the victim’s car, four other males entered the vehicle and allegedly forced the victim to hand over the Rolex and $53, the spokesman said.

According to emergency radio transmissions, police helicopters were dispatched as cops were searching for a white Honda CRV that possibly crossed the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge into Brooklyn.

No further information is available at this time and the investigation remains ongoing, police said.
