STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A person reportedly was stabbed in broad daylight in the vicinity of busy Hylan Boulevard in New Dorp on Friday morning, according to authorities.
The male was stabbed once in the left leg with an unknown object in the incident called at 11:14 a.m. in the 2400 block of Hylan Boulevard between Bache and Jacques avenues, according to preliminary information provided to a spokesman for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.
The person was taken in stable condition to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze, according to the police spokesman.
A level-one mobilization has been called in a search for one or more suspects in the area, according to emergency radio communications.
The victim was a child who was chased by a group of other youths, beaten and stabbed in the middle of Hylan Boulevard, according to a witness who declined to have his name published in the Advance/SILive.com.
