STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Authorities allege that a 30-year-old man was part of a group that pushed its way into a home in Stapleton and beat and robbed the victim at gunpoint.
Aaron Lawrence of Cary Avenue in West Brighton was arrested on Oct. 5 in connection with the home-invasion robbery of an acquaintance on Sept. 26 at about 5:15 p.m. in the vicinity of Osgood and Vanderbilt avenues, according to the criminal complaint and police.
A 24-year-old man alleged that Lawrence and other suspects who remain at large pushed their way into his home. One of the individuals used a black firearm to hit the victim in the head, the complaint alleges.
The individuals allegedly knocked the victim to the floor, held him down and punched him in the head and neck.
They stole money, sneakers, a PlayStation console and a debit card, the complaint alleges.
Lawrence has been charged with robbery, burglary, criminal trespass, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.
The suspect, who stands about 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs about 220 pounds, pleaded not guilty to all charges and is free on bond set at $200,000/$100,000 cash, according to public records.
An attorney for the defendant did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
