NYPD: Man sought for questioning in alleged burglary of Staten Island market

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an individual sought for questioning in connection to a commercial burglary in Sunnyside.

It was reported that on Sunday, Dec. 24, at around 5 a.m., an unknown individual gained access to a restaurant and market, both located at 1172 Victory Blvd., by forcibly entering the rear door of the establishments, according to a statement from the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.

The El Nile Market is located at the address provided by police.

The individual removed an unknown sum of money from the restaurant and market before allegedly fleeing on foot northbound on Victory Boulevard towards Grand Avenue.

He is described as a male with a medium complexion, last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black shoes and a blue mask.

There were no injuries reported during this incident.
