STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A man was stabbed on Friday morning in Graniteville, according to police.
The incident occurred around 8:25 a.m. in the vicinity of Forest Avenue and Willow Road West, according to preliminary information provided to a spokesman for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.
A man with a stab wound in the abdomen was taken in stable condition to Richmond University Medical Center in West Brighton, the police spokesman said.
Police described the suspect as a Hispanic male wearing a white jacket and a dark hat that fled on Forest Avenue in the direction of South Avenue.
A fight might have led to the stabbing, according to a source with knowledge of the investigation.
The investigation continues with no arrests at this time, the police spokesman said.
