NYPD says man stole 20 pairs of sneakers from Staten Island home

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an individual sought for questioning in connection to an alleged burglary in Tompkinsville.

It was reported on Saturday, Dec. 2, at around 4:35 a.m. that an unknown individual entered a residential home on the 200 block of Bay Street by climbing through a rear window, according to a statement from the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.

Once inside, the man allegedly removed 20 pairs of sneakers valued at approximately $2,000 and a white gold chain with a white gold cross medallion valued at approximately $800, police said.

The individual allegedly fled on Victory Boulevard towards Montgomery Avenue. No injuries were reported, according to police.

The individual can be described as having a medium complexion with a mustache and trimmed beard. In the media provided by police, he can be seen wearing what looks like a tracksuit with a white t- shirt underneath, along with a baseball cap and white sneakers. He also has what appears to be a cigar clenched in his mouth.
