Panera — the bakery-cafe known for its soups, salads and sandwiches — is making some major changes.
A Panera representative confirmed to Today.com the nationwide chain is removing several items from a percentage of stores in a move to simplify its menu and provide a “faster and more convenient guest experience.”
News of the change first went viral on TikTok, where user @snachwithzach posted a video discussing a photo posted on Reddit by u/Wolfygirl97 of an alleged Panera internal document noting more than 50 items were on the chopping block, including entrees, breads, sandwiches, salads, soups and more.
According to the representative, Panera fans shouldn’t panic: The change is being tested in fewer than 3% of its bakery-cafes. The company — which also has stores in Canada — did not provide information on which locations would be impacted.
