STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Police are searching for an individual who allegedly assaulted a bank employee in Stapleton Tuesday afternoon.
At around 12:45 p.m., a man walked into the Citibank at 577 Bay St. and struck the hand of a bank employee causing a minor injury, according to an NYPD spokesman. The employee refused medical attention at the scene.
The man, described to be in his 20s, fled the location in a blue BMW that was later found to have been reported stolen on Sept. 25, police said.
The car was last seen traveling to Brooklyn on the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge.
No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing, police said.
