PSAL AA softball city championship: Tottenville-Scholars game postponed yet again, this time because of weather concerns

This is not a misprint: Two-time defending PSAL AA softball city champion Tottenville’s title-game match-up has been postponed yet again.

This time, it’s the elements that have ruined the plans.

Monday’s game between the Pirates and Scholars Academy, which was supposed to take place at Randall’s Island at 3 p.m., was postponed because of impending weather — most notably rain and possible thunderstorms that are supposed to hit the metropolitan area sometime this afternoon.

The game has now been moved to St. John’s University in Queens on Tuesday beginning at 3 p.m. If the Pirates win the first game, they’ll clinch their third straight city title, as well as their 16th since the PSAL’s inception in 1971.

If the Seawolves win, a second-and-deciding game will be played immediately after the first contest at SJU.

Tottenville is in the driver’s seat after defeating Scholars, 7-4, in the winners’ bracket final more than a week ago.
