St. Joseph by-the-Sea’s season came to an abrupt halt in the CHSFL AA-1 quarterfinals Saturday night as the No. 5 seeded Vikings fell to No. 4 Xavier, 24-7, at the Aviator Sports Compex in Brooklyn.
The Vikings finished with a 4-6 mark, while Xavier improved to 7-3 overall and punched its ticket to next week’s semifinals against the highest remaining seed in the eight-team event.
After a scoreless first quarter, Xavier, behind a run-orientated, motion offense, scored early in the second quarter on Sean Kull’s 36-yard run around left end.
