STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — St. Peter’s Boys High School has transformed its former library space into a dedicated student center for club meetings, tutoring, group and individual study, and guest speakers.
Virtual learning during the coronavirus (COVID-19) introduced more students to online work, and both President John Fodera and Principal Michael Cosentino recognized a need for a new space for students at the New Brighton high school to be able to better utilize technology. According to the school leaders, the former library — located on the third floor and overlooking the school’s football field — was filled with rows of books that students rarely used.
