Six Flags announces Oktoberfest celebration on weekends

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Six Flags Great Adventure is celebrating Oktoberfest with food and family entertainment until November.

The Jackson, N.J., theme park is inviting park-goers to experience the German culture through a wide range of entertainment, food and beverages.

Oktoberfest will run on the weekends through Nov. 5, and is included in general park admission.

Some of the booths include potato pancakes, bratwurst and beer, while the entertainment has a German flare with folk singers, jugglers, a pretzel-eating contest, a brass band and more.

In addition to Oktoberfest, Six Flags has announced 70% off of season passes and tickets through Sept. 10.

Park visitors can use their new 2024 season passes for 2023 Fright Fest, Oktoberfest, Boo Fest and Holiday in the Park.

This year’s 30th annual Fright Fest features several new haunts, including “The Conjuring” and “Saw X.”

While daylight hours are reserved for family-friendly events, like the Kids Boo Fest and Oktoberfest, the theme park will pull out all the haunted stops for 30 nights of fright.

Kids Boo Fest will take place weekends from Sept. 16 to Oct. 29 with the park adorned in its fall finest, including mums, pumpkins, cornstalks and hay bales. Attractions for families will include trick-or-treating in Cornstalk National Park, the Hunt for Boo, a live show called “Witch’s Brew,” and fun-filled wagon rides.
