STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — With 2024 only days away, members of AR Inc. Black Lives Matter believe this is an excellent reason for youth in the community to gather together.
Set to be an afternoon of “good vibes, good company and lots of good food,” the organization’s members are inviting children ages 13 and over from throughout Staten Island to a Sneaker Ball to promote peace and unity in the coming year.
The event will be held at Li Greci’s Staaten, 697 Forest Ave., on Friday, Dec. 29, from noon to 4 p.m., and will include brunch, entertainment, youth speakers, special guests, a DJ and a “Toast for Peace for 2024.”
The only cost is a $10 registration fee required for all who plan to attend.
“Are you tired of the violence that has divided and terrorized our communities . . . the daily threats of the war in the Middle East spreading to America . . . the ongoing challenges of migrants in our city . . . or the unrest that seems to be unending?,’’ the group asked in a written statement publicizing the event. “Come, take a deep breath and join us for an afternoon rally of good times.”
