Social media talk show host is searching for a few very special Staten Island women | Inside Out

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Because Christine Sloan Stoddard felt the need to initiate an informative social media show as a way to encourage in-depth, long-form conversations about incredible women of New York City, she’s hosting “Badass Lady Folk,” where she discusses art, activism, and gender equity.

It all began when the writer/artist and filmmaker started a community radio show on Radio Free Brooklyn. The show has since expanded to a podcast available on major platforms and a new television show on the Manhattan Neighborhood Network.

In fact, this year Stoddard was named one of the Top 50 Most Fascinating People in Brooklyn by Brooklyn Magazine for her work in theater, art, and media — including “Badass Lady-Folk.”

“Women self-nominate or get nominated by their peers and then I go through my own process to decide who to invite on the show,” said the inquisitive talk show host who interviews female/femme-identifying leaders in their respective fields.

But it’s not just about Brooklyn and Manhattan. Stoddard recently interviewed Staten Island’s Carissa Pagnatelli and she’s continuing to search for nominations from borough residents about incredible local women.
