STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Police recovered guns and ammunition in a storage locker in Rosebank.
The investigation began around 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday at 131 Lynhurst Ave. in Rosebank, according to a spokeswoman for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.
The incident is classified as found deadly weapons that were recovered from a locker that was purchased at auction at that location. While conducting his initial search of the locker, the purchaser discovered a loaded assault rifle and a shotgun. A loaded magazine and loose bullets also were recovered, according to a source with knowledge of the investigation.
Police were seen going in and out of the storage facility on Thursday.
No arrests have been made and the investigation continues, the police spokeswoman said.
