Stapleton fire prompts FDNY “all hands” response

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A fire at a home in Stapleton prompted an ‘all hands’ FDNY response Thursday evening.

Firefighters responded to 27 Metcalfe Street at 6:22 p.m., according to an alert from the FDNY’s Twitter feed.

The fire seemed to have started on the second floor of the private dwelling, according to emergency radio transmissions.

At around 6:33 p.m., the fire was placed under control.
