Eight Staten Island girls’ high school basketball players were named to the inaugural Warren Jaques Memorial All-Star team for the 2023-24 season, the Advance/SILive.com has learned.
The announcement was made by Jaques Memorial Committee chairman Tim Gannon on Monday night.
The All Stars include newly named Jaques Award winner and junior forward Angelina Hodgens, and senior shooting guard Danielle Williamsen of St. Joseph-by-the-Sea; Moore Catholic forward Brianna Caliri; Susan Wagner forward Samantha Harrell; St. Joseph Hill forward Molly Keane; Petrides shooting guard Ysella Kosic; Notre Dame forward Sabrina Kraker; and New Dorp forward Jordanna Schrecker.
The eight-man All-Star team was chosen by Jaques selection committee members Pat DeForte, Ginny Duffy, Pam Curcio, Linda Rohrbecker, and Mike O’Connor.
The All Stars will be honored along with the boys’ and girls’ Jaques Award winners; the boys’ All-Star team; the Jack Zaborowski Award winner and the Joan E. Gumb Golden Eagle Award winner at the 74th annual Jaques Dinner, which will take place on April 12 at LiGreci’s Staaten beginning at 7 p.m.

Brianna Caliri (Moore Catholic): The junior forward posted 15.1 PPG and 7.3 RPG. At 6-foot-2, she proved to be a strong shot-blocker, with equally impressive mid range touch on her jump shot and a physical presence around the rim. She led the Mavericks to the CHSAA A Archdiocesan title game.
Samantha Harrell (Susan Wagner): The senior forward has done it all for Wagner and is averaging 24.5 PPG, 6.9 RPG, and 2.6 APG. Harrell has been the powerhouse of Wagner’s offense, often scoring in the paint, but has proven capable of stepping out beyond the arc. She has also been one of the Falcons’ top rim protectors.
