Johanna M. Cummings, 93, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023. She was born with her twin sister Agnes in Chelsea Manhattan and the rest of her seven sisters and two brothers. She went on to marry the love of her life Francis from her neighborhood for 33 years until his passing. She worked for N.Y Telephone Co. and in the banking industry for almost 30 years and then in clerical jobs at various institutions until her retirement. Joseph “Peppino” Pietrangelo, passed away on Friday, Dec. 15, 2023. An accomplished stone mason, business owner, and beloved family man, Joseph’s life was said to be marked by adventure, hard work, and an unwavering dedication to his family. Born in 1939 in a small mountain town in Vinchiaturo, Italy, his life was full of exploration when he moved with his family to Argentina at the age of 9. It was during his time in Patagonia that he learned to be a skillful stone mason. His talents and vision eventually brought him to New York City, where he established a successful marble and granite business that stood as a testament to his aesthetic talents. Throughout his professional life, his work not only showcased his artistry and dedication but also left behind a legacy characterized by a commitment to quality and excellence, which is proudly upheld by his son. As he is remembered, he lived a life well-lived, full of passion, adventure, and an unwavering commitment to the pursuit of knowledge and culture.
