STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — As the magic of the holiday season unfolds, Ghostlight Players is unveiling not one, but two spectacular events that promise to make the most wonderful time of year live up to its name.
“The Ghost Writers: A Playwrights Festival,” featuring 13 original one act plays, will be presented from Thursday, Nov. 30 through Saturday, Dec. 2 and from Thursday, Dec. 7 through Sunday Dec. 10.
“A Very Ghostlight Cabaret” opens on Saturday, Dec. 2 and Saturday, Dec. 10.
Both events will be held at Historic Richmond Town at Hemsley Hall (4 Arthur Kill Road) the Parish House for the Church of St. Andrew.
“The Ghost Writers” festival passes are $20, which allows audiences to attend all seven days of original plays. “A Very Ghostlight Christmas Cabaret” tickets are $15.

Topics range from a comic tale of a superhero’s day off, to a mysterious encounter with fate and destiny on an archeological dig in Texas, to a comic imagining of how Santa and Mrs. Claus fell in love, to a harrowing mother/daughter battle on the brink of sanity, to a fractured family meeting up at the funeral of their father.
Not to mention a behind-the-scenes glimpse of a teacher’s lounge in a local college, to a reimagining of a classic Twilight Zone episode and much more.
