The 2023 Wagner College DaVinci Society Scholarship Dinner to honor 7 outstanding community leaders

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The 18th annual Wagner College DaVinci Society’s Scholarship Dinner will unfold on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 6 p.m. in Nicotra’s Ballroom at the Hilton Garden Inn — a gala event that becomes more successful with each edition.

The unique evening observes Italian Heritage month, showcases Italian culture and recognizes the accomplishments and significant contributions made by Italian-Americans, while also honoring local leaders making an impact on Staten Island.

The scholarship dinner is being chaired by attorney Robert Scamardella, president of the organization, who explains that The DaVinci Society raises scholarship funds to benefit Staten Island Italian-American students. To date, the society has awarded well over $1 million in scholarship funds to qualifying students who attend Wagner College.

In addition to featuring musical performances from popular Broadway musicals, the Society will laud four outstanding leaders for their community service, while also presenting its Renaissance and Lifetime Achievement Awards.

Recognized for community service will be Diane Peruggia, a founding member of the GRACE Foundation; Jeanna DellaRagione, executive vice president of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation; Michael Caridi, board chairman of Staten Island University Hospital; and Gerald “Jerry” Amerosi, former president of the Rotary Club of Staten Island and the Staten Island Bucks Business Network.

The Hon. Ralph Lamberti Renaissance Award will be bestowed upon Caroline Diamond Harrison, publisher of the Advance/SILive.com and CEO of Advance Local, and Timothy Harrison, principal of TCH Realty & Development Co., LLC, and board chairman of Richmond University Medical Center.

William Fani, president of Met Foods, will be the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award.
