Watch: Dave Portnoy makes a Staten Islander’s day with surprise home visit

A lot can be (and has been) said about Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, but it can’t be said that he isn’t personable when it comes to his beloved “stoolies”. The media mogul descended upon six Staten Island pizzerias last month, but came across one especially esteemed fan during his review of Jimmy Max in Westerleigh.

Portnoy visited the location last month, but posted the review for the first time to his X account on Friday night. The video begins with his standard review, which praised the establishment’s thin-crust style pie and revealed a hefty 7.8 out of 10 score.

Perhaps, even sweeter than the heavenly pizza, was what happened next. During the review (around the 2:00 minute mark), a man in a Barstool Sports hoodie looked on, drawing the attention of Portnoy.

After stopping for a photo with the spectator, the man asked if he’d mind taking a walk up the street to his house to meet his wife. The ever-personable Portnoy swiftly obliged.

The man’s astounded spouse was waiting at the front door, mouth agape with their infant child in hand, as Portnoy gleefully walked up to the front stoop. The couple revealed that the woman’s father, who was said to be battling health issues, was a huge fan.

Naturally, Portnoy jumped on a FaceTime call with the stranger — and made his day.

“NOOOOO!” shouted the man upon seeing Portnoy on screen. “What are you doing there?! You’re my man! I’m going through a little bit of health issues, but you just made my day!”
