When is Shark Week 2023? Discovery Channel announces official dates.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Get ready for sharks to take over the summer TV schedule when Shark Week 2023 starts in July.

The summer tradition airs every year on the Discovery Channel — typically running for eight days. Discovery recently announced the dates for Shark Week 2023. This year’s series will start on Sunday, July 23, and will wrap up on Sunday, July 30.

If you are a cord-cutter you can watch Shark Week on fuboTV, which is currently offering a free trial.

This year, actor Jason Momoa will host the week-long shark extravaganza, serving as the master of ceremonies. Momoa is the second person to host the beloved event, following Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who served in the same position during Shark Week 2022.

“As the host of Shark Week, I am beyond excited to take you along on this journey,” said Momoa in a media release. “This project means more to me than a week of talking about sharks. It’s a chance for me to learn and share my connection to these amazing creatures. My love of sharks came long before my time as Aquaman — it began several generations before me.”

He will be the prelude to new thrilling specials throughout the week, guiding millions across the world through exciting, shark-filled adventures each night.

A full programming schedule for Shark Week will be distributed in the coming weeks.

If you can’t wait for programming to start next month, take a swim through the best of Shark Week for the most impressive breaches, biggest discoveries, and jaw-some moments from Shark Week 2022, Discovery suggested.
