STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The number of foreclosures in New York City nearly doubled in 2023, though totals remain well below the exorbitant highs recorded just a few years ago.
A new report by PropertyShark analyzed first-time residential foreclosures across New York City in recent years to identify trends in the cityโs real estate market two years after the pandemic-related foreclosure moratorium ended in January 2022.
