Bronx detectives are looking for the suspect behind a double shooting on Saturday morning that left a man dead and another injured.
Police said the gunfire erupted at about 3:07 a.m. on March 25 near the corner of East 179th Street and Mapes Avenue in Crotona.
Officers from the 48th Precinct, in responding to a 911 call about the shooting, found a 34-year-old man at the scene, shot multiple times about his body.
EMS rushed the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Police have withheld his identity, pending family notification.
Later, police learned that a second shooting victim sought treatment via private means at Bronx Lebanon Hospital. The individual, a 33-year-old man who took a bullet to his right arm, is now listed in stable condition.
Law enforcement sources did not provide a possible description of the suspected shooter, or a motive leading up to the deadly shooting.
So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, police said.
