One person is dead and five others were wounded Monday afternoon in a shooting at a Bronx subway station on the No. 4 line.
Officers responded to a 911 call just after 4:45 p.m. on Feb. 12 on the northbound platform at the Mount Eden Avenue station and found six people with gunshot wounds on the platform.
It wasnโt immediately clear if there had been one shooter or multiple.
Efraim Feliciano, 61,ย was standing nearby the station when he said he heard six gunshot blasts, followed by multiple people screaming.
โThe train was coming in, and I saw two kids yelling,โ said Feliciano. โAnd then from there, I heard six shotgun shots. Six of them, boom boom boom boom.โ
A massive investigation is now underway. On X (the platform formerly known as Twitter), police advised residents to avoid the area of Mount Eden and Jerome Avenues near the scene of the shooting.
Northbound 4 trains were running express from 149th Street to Burnside Avenue and are skipping the Mount Eden Avenue stop as a result of the shooting, the MTA said.
An amNY reporter is heading to the scene. This is a developing story. Check back later for updates.
