A 16-year-old boy was slashed in the chest at a Manhattan public high school Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The victim was wounded just past noon in the Manhattan Business Academy, part of the Bayard Rustin Educational Campus on W. 18th St. in Chelsea.
Medics took the victim to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition. Police said he was not cooperating with investigators.
Two boys, one 17, the other whose age was not immediately clear, were taken into custody but have not yet been charged, a source said.
“We are committed to offering safe and welcoming schools for our students, and violence has absolutely no place in them,” said Jenna Lyle, a spokeswoman for the public schools. “Our dedicated educators and school safety agents, who work every day to keep our children safe, immediately responded to this incident. We are providing the necessary followup supports to this school community.”
