A stray bullet hit an MTA bus in the Bronx on Saturday, grazing one woman and shattering glass tat injured two other women passengers.
The Westchester Square-bound BX4 bus was at Westchester Ave. and Tinton Ave. in Melrose at about 3:20 p.m. when a man fired at a car driving away from a grocery store on Union Ave. near E. 156th St., said cops.
Instead of hitting his intended target, at least one bullet struck the city bus and grazed a woman, 59, in the chest, said police. Two other women, both 67, were injured by broken glass.
All three women were taken to Lincoln Hospital, and were expected to recover from their injuries.
Cops believe the gunman opened fire after arguing with another person in front of the grocery store on Union St. The shooter remained at large on Saturday night.
The investigation remained underway Saturday evening.
โWe are grateful no bus passengers appear to have been seriously hurt,โ NYC Transit President Richard Davey said in a statement.
