Brooklyn MS-13 member shot his drinking buddying for disrespecting him during late-night cocaine binge: Feds

He talked too much.

For that, a 32-year-old man was shot in the head in a Brooklyn apartment, dumped in the back of an SUV, driven to a wooded area in Pennsylvania where his gang member killers set his dead body on fire after an alcohol-fueled cocaine binge, authorities said.

Rolando Blanco-Duarteโ€™s night out one-day last month quickly took a bad turn when one of his new acquaintances took offense to something he said while they were tossing back drinks and snorting cocaine., according to court papers.

While they were drinking in a Sunset Park apartment, Blanco-Duarte โ€œdisrespectedโ€ Luis Marroquin-Cerna, 27, by interrupting him during a conversation, officials said. Marroquin-Cerna vowed to โ€œdo something crazy,โ€ then โ€œthen assaulted the victim by hitting and kicking him, according to a criminal complaint.

Marroquin-Cerna, a member of the MS-13 gang, told Blanco-Duarte that he could not be disrespected. Then he reached inside a cabinet, retrieved a handgun, and shot the victim twice, once in the back and once in the head, the complaint said.

While a friend stayed with the body, Marroquin-Cerna and Rodolfo Lopez, 29 went out, and returned with trash bags and a wheelbarrow.

The men loaded the body into the back of a white SUV. They stopped at a gas station at station near 36th Street and 5th Avenue in Brooklyn where Marroquin-Cerna purchased a gas can and filled it with gas, officials said.

The men drove to a wooded area in Chester County, Pennsylvania, where they dumped the victimโ€™s body and set it on fire, police said.

Authorities responding to calls about the early morning, still-burning brush fire discovered the victimโ€™s body. Surveillance video and license plate cameras traced the SUV, a Mitsubishi Outlander, to Brooklyn, and one of the people involved.

The suspects were arrested Tuesday afternoon and charged with murder.
