At least 12 people were injured in a fire Wednesday at an apartment building in Brownsville, Brooklyn — including one person who was critically wounded, according to the FDNY.
Officials said the fire broke out at around 9:50 a.m. at 315 Sutton St., part of NYCHA’s Langston Hughes Apartments, a public housing complex in the heart of the neighborhood.
Firefighters got the blaze under control within about half an hour, the department said. The 12 people were taken to nearby hospitals.
It was not immediately clear what caused the fire. A NYCHA spokesperson referred a request for comment to the FDNY
