A Brooklyn woman was killed and a man accompanying her injured in Queens on Tuesday night after a group of suspects unleashed a broadside of bullets into their car, according to police.
NYPD officials said 28-year-old Clarisa Burgos was in the passenger seat of a black Honda sedan near 127th Street and Liberty Avenue in South Ozone Park when the suspects approached the car and began firing.
Burgos was struck in the head and the 39-year-old man in the driverโs seat was struck multiple times in the chest, police said.
The man, whom police did not identify, drove the victims just before midnight to the 103rd precinct station house in Jamaica, where he told officials he and Burgos had been shot, according to the NYPD.
First responders pronounced Burgos dead at the scene and the man was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in stable condition.
Police have not made any arrests in the incident and the investigation is ongoing. Officials said Wednesday morning they did not yet know how Burgos and the man were related.
This is a developing story and may be updated.
