Dad of infant found slain in Bronx woods fled with body in stroller: prosecutors

A cold-blooded Bronx dad accused of killing his 3-month-old daughter dressed the dead child in a onesie and hat before placing her corpse in a stroller to make his getaway, authorities charged Wednesday.

The chilling details emerged as suspect Damion Comager appeared in Bronx Criminal Court to face charges of murder and manslaughter, accused of fatally shaking the child before dumping her remains in a trash-strewn stretch of Bronx woods.

Comager, 23, also changed his dead daughterโ€™s diaper before slipping away from the shelter where they lived and later stuffed her into a garbage bag to hide the childโ€™s remains โ€” rather than seek help for the innocent victim, prosecutors allege.

He was ordered held without bail, with authorities charging the killing occurred two weeks before the infantโ€™s body was discovered Sunday. The defendant, other than whispering to his lawyer, remained silent during the hearing.

Comager was busted after confessing to the homicide in a phone call with his father, prosecutors said, and later led investigators to the seedy site where the body was deposited. He initially refused to share the location with his dad.

The father and girlfriend Ivana Paolozzi were arrested with their passports and were planning to bolt the Bronx for a trip to Switzerland โ€” where the momโ€™s family lived, said Assistant District Attorney Serena Newell.

Her father told the Daily News he was expecting a call from Ivana about a flight home on Tuesday, unaware she was already in custody and charged with concealment of a human corpse.

Comager appeared in court wearing a black T-shirt with his hands cuffed behind his back. The defendant had three active arrest warrants in Colorado for assault, failure to appear and a probation violation.

Authorities said he fled to France to avoid those charges, and met girlfriend Paolozzi on Instagram while overseas. The couple then went to Switzerland for a turbulent stay with her parents before returning to New York this past…
