It’s a stormy Monday morning in New York City, where a Brooklyn councilmember wants Mister Softee to stop running its ice cream trucks on fuel-burning generators.

The legislation, introduced by Councilman Lincoln Restler, would require ice cream trucks in the city to make the move toward environmentally conscious alternatives to run the trucks, like electric or solar power and right-wing officials are criticizing his supposed war on summertime happiness.
