Welcome to Wednesday in New York City where our new trash cans just dropped.

Say goodbye to those green mesh trash bins NYC has been using for two decades. The city’s new trash receptacles won’t be showing off our garbage with a mesh design anymore. The sleek new baskets are made up of three parts: a concrete base, a metal lid on a hinge and a lightweight plastic basket.

Here’s what else is going on:
