Welcome to Wednesday in New York City, where we aren’t even in the top 50 best cities for women.

A WalletHub study found very few tri-state areas cities are great places for women, based on factors like economic and social well-being, health care, and safety. Yonkers came in 9th place and Jersey City came in 12th. Where does NYC land on the list? No. 56. The top spot went to Columbia, Maryland.

Here’s what else is going on:

  • In other rankings, Los Tacos No. 1, Cafe Nube, and Birria-Landia are three NYC taco spots that made Yelp’s top 100 taco shops in the U.S.
  • Nick Offerman of “Parks and Recreation” fame is coming to The Greene Space on Oct. 4 for a LIVE broadcast of All Things Considered with host Sean Carlson. Offerman will discuss his New York Times bestselling book, “Where the Deer and the Antelope Play: The Pastoral Observations of One Ignorant American Who Likes to Walk Outside.”
  • New data shows teachers are calling in sick more often than before the pandemic. Last school year, 19% of NYC teachers used more than their 10 allotted sick days, up from 14% pre-pandemic.
  • Commander Biden, the First Family pup, canโ€™t seem to stop biting Secret Service agents. The German shepherd bit his 11th victim on Monday night.
  • The NYC Council is aiming to hold the Department of Transportation accountable for slow progress on repaving streets with a bill that would set two-week deadlines for such projects. But City Hall officials say it would result in sloppy work.
