It’s Wednesday afternoon in New York City and we should all know by now that an actual burger from a fast food joint doesn’t look much like its advertised picture.
That’s not stopping a federal judge from allowing plaintiffs to continue to pursue a class action lawsuit against Burger King over the size of their Whoppers. McDonald’s and Wendy’s are also facing similar lawsuits in a Brooklyn court.
Here’s what else is happening:

- An analysis by the New York Civil Liberties Union found that the NYPD stopped 4,300 pedestrians in the second quarter of this year, a major increase over the last few years as stop and frisk continues to be a concern for New Yorkers.
- Construction on Manhattan’s first film and TV studio will begin later this year at Pier 94, despite local pushback over the development’s property tax break.
- Disappointed Mets fans may soon be able to ride out their frustrations all the way home on a Citi Bike if and when the service expands to Citi Field.
