Four people, including boys ages 3 and 6, shot in NYC park

Four people, including two brothers ages 3 and 6, were shot and wounded by a gunman on a scooter just outside a Bronx park on Tuesday night, law enforcement sources and cops said.

Two cousins, ages 23 and 25, were standing next to a parked gray Acura on E. 193rd St. near Morris Ave. just outside of St. James Park in Kingsbridge when two masked men on a scooter drove by at about 5:48 p.m., cops said.

The gunman hopped off the back of the scooter, pulled a gun and fired at least seven times, striking the 23 year-old man in the lower back and the 25-year-old man twice in the thigh, sources said.

The two young boys, walking with their mother, were also struck in the hail of gunfire. The 3-year-old was shot once in the leg and his older brother was grazed in the leg.

โ€œThere were many shots. The little boy was sitting there bleeding โ€” bleeding a lot,โ€ a 50-year-old woman said of the older boy. โ€œHe wasnโ€™t crying, he was in shock. I feel terrible. He was just a little boy, just a baby.โ€

The woman said she was sitting inside St. James Park, where hundreds of people were gathered, when the shots rang out.

โ€œYou know as a dad and parent in this city, I couldnโ€™t imagine this happening to my kids,โ€ NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell said at the scene Tuesday night. โ€œAbsolutely heart wrenching and disturbing.โ€

The two adult victims were believed to be the gunmanโ€™s intended targets, law enforcement sources said.

โ€œThe other two [victims] were outside the car, one sitting on the sidewalk, the other was lying on the floor bleeding,โ€ the woman, who wished to remain anonymous out of fear for retaliation, told the Daily News.

The gunman ran to catch up with the scooter driver before jumping back on. The driver then sped off heading east on E. 193rd St. before turning right onto Creston Ave., sources said.

โ€œThere were two guys on scooters. They drove off fast,โ€ the woman said. โ€œItโ€™s terrible. Iโ€™m scared. Itโ€™s dangerous over here. I donโ€™t want them to find…
