The Latino Court Officers Society is calling on the generosity of the Kings County legal community to help equip local elementary students with essential school supplies for the coming academic year.
This philanthropic initiative aligns perfectly with the society’s mission to foster fellowship, service, professionalism and integrity among its members while concurrently giving back to the community. The society, composed of employees from the Unified Court System, works relentlessly to support its members’ growth, fight against discriminatory practices and contribute positively to the community.
The society is requesting donations of school supplies for students aged four-11 years, from grades Pre-K through five, in various Brooklyn elementary schools. The collected supplies, ranging from backpacks, water bottles, loose leaf paper, binders and pencils, to notebooks, erasers, zipper pouches, glue, markers and crayons, will significantly alleviate the financial burden on families preparing for the new school year.
The campaign will run until Aug. 11, with multiple drop-off locations spread across Kings County courthouses. Donations can be given to:

- Kirgizia Grajales, Supreme Kings – Criminal
- Mercedes Lokich, Family Court, Kings County
- CO Ariel Hernandez, Kings Criminal Court

- Chief David Salazar, Appellate Division, 2nd Department
For those who prefer online donations, the society has set up an Amazon wishlist. Donors can purchase items from the list and have them shipped directly to Erica Prosper’s gift registry address at checkout.
