Man, 33, dies from head injuries in Bronx hallway homicide

A 33-year-old man died from severe head injuries three days after he was found semiconscious in a Bronx apartment building hallway, police said Tuesday.

The death of Jermaine Jones has been deemed a homicide but his killer has not been found.

The case dates back to June 22, when police were called to the building on Shakespeare Ave. near W. 167th St. in Highbridge about 9 p.m.

Jones was found lying in a fifth-floor hallway with a cut under his chin, police said.

Medics rushed Jones semiconscious to Lincoln Hospital, where he died three days later.

An autopsy later determined he had suffered a skull fracture and other head injuries.

Jones lived in the Norwood section of the Bronx, according to cops.
