A 10-year-old girl was killed Tuesday morning after falling onto the subway tracks in Queens, according to police.

Officers responded to the Roosevelt Avenue and 74th Street subway station in Jackson Heights just before 6:40 a.m., where they found the girl lying on the tracks, unresponsive with significant injuries, officials said.

The NYPD determined that she had been struck by a southbound E train. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The girlโ€™s name has not yet been released. Police said witnesses observed the girl appear to faint onto the tracks and there was no criminality suspected.

Subway service on the E, F, and R lines was significantly disrupted while the incident was being investigated.
