An overnight car crash in Brooklyn killed a teenage passenger, police said Friday.

An 18-year-old woman was riding in the passenger seat of a Honda Accord when a Mercedes Benz sedan rammed into the vehicle shortly before 3:30 a.m. Friday, where Atlantic Avenue joins with Court Street, police said.

First responders rushed her to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The teenager, whose identity has yet to be publicly released, was riding in the car with a 32-year-old driver who was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Police said that the Mercedes Benz ran a red light as it was zipping south on Court Street, where it crashed with the other car on Atlantic Avenue. A 25-year-old man driving the other car fled the scene by foot but was apprehended by police, according to officials. He was also hospitalized.

Charges against that driver are pending and police did not release his name.

This is a developing story and may be updated.
