Police are investigating the death of a woman struck and killed by a 1 train in Lower Manhattan on Thursday evening.
The NYPD says officers responded around 7 p.m. to a 9-1-1 call about a woman on the tracks at the World Trade Center/Cortlandt Station.
Officers determined the woman had been hit by a southbound 1 train as it came into the station. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
NYPD said no criminal conduct is suspected. The womanโs identity has not yet been released.
Service on the 1 train was suspended between South Ferry and Chambers Street until 10:30 p.m., according to MTA police.
