Police on Monday were searching for three suspects involved in a shooting in Prospect Park on Sunday afternoon that left a man injured.
According to the NYPD, a 37-year-old man was shot once in the right leg around 3 p.m. at the southeast corner of the park, near Ocean Avenue and Parkside Avenue. He was taken to Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in stable condition.
Police described the suspects as two men in their 20s wearing black jackets and gray sweatpants and one man in his 30s wearing a black jacket and dark jeans. They allegedly fled the scene south on foot towards Coney Island Avenue.
No arrests were made, and police continue to investigate the incident.
The reason for the shooting was not immediately clear.
According to NYPD data, only one other shooting has occurred near Prospect Park so far this year.
On April 29, around 2:30 p.m., a man was shot on the park’s outskirts, at the intersection of Ocean Avenue and Lincoln Road.
The victim in that shooting was also taken to the hospital in stable condition, the New York Post reported.
