Queens teenager on motorbike dies after colliding with MTA bus

A teenager on a motorbike in Queens died Tuesday night after colliding with an MTA bus at an intersection, according to police.

Dylan Picaza, 16, was riding a 2009 Kawasaki motorbike and traveling eastbound on Astoria Boulevard at around 10:30 p.m. when police said he ran a red light, crashing into a city bus heading north on 101st Street.

Police officials said Picaza, of Elmhurst, was not wearing a helmet. He collided with the driver’s side of the bus and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The bus was empty at the time, and police said the 52-year-old driver was not injured. Officials said there was no criminality on the part of the bus driver.
