Trains on the 1, 2, and 3 lines won’t fully be back in business in time for Friday morning rush hour, according to an update from the MTA.
Trains on the three subway lines were partially suspended after a derailment near the 96th Street station Thursday afternoon following a slow-moving collision. More than 20 people sustained minor injuries when two 1 trains collided with each other near the station around 3 p.m., officials said.
Early Friday, the MTA advised that the morning commute would be impacted by the following service changes:
-No 1 trains between 137 St-City College and Times Sq-42 St
-No 2 trains on the West Side of Manhattan
-No 3 trains between 135 St and Times Sq-42 St
Subway riders outside of Manhattan should expect delays on those lines, the MTA said, as crews worked to repair the derailed trains.
This is a developing story and may be updated.
