Teen riding on back of motorcycle dies in Queens parkway crash

A teen riding on the back of a motorcycle in Queens was killed early Monday when she was flung to the ground after the speeding driver struck a curb and lost control, police said.

Alyssa Henley died at the scene after the 29-year-old driver, heading north on the Cross Island Parkway, tried to exit onto the ramp for the southbound Whitestone Expressway.

โ€œAlyssa was just 17 years old and would have been graduating high school this week,โ€ the victimโ€™s aunt wrote on GoFundMe. โ€œAlyssa was such a bright soul with a big future and this is so hard for everyone right now.โ€

The motorcycleโ€™s driver hit a curb and lost control. The motorcycle fell on its right side and Henley flew off her seat and suffered severe head injuries.

Medics took the driver to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Queens in stable condition. He was not immediately charged.
